Roy Lavaughn Smith, 80, of Paris, was called to his heavenly home on February 16, 2018, in Paris Regional Medical Center. At Mr. Smith’s request, no services will be conducted.
He was born on December 7, 1937 in Honey Grove, Texas to John Henry and Carrie Irene Faulkner Smith. He married Betty Jean Barnett in 1956. Roy worked at Campbell Soup for 12 yrs. and also owned his own businesses.
Survivors include his son, Jackie Lavaughn Smith and wife Vanessa; grandchildren, Amy Smith, Kelly Ferguson and husband “Cookie”, Jace Short and wife Shelly, Melissa McGee and husband Jeff, Sharena Bennett and husband Shane, Keith George and Jamie; great-grandchildren, Reiley Nicole Palmer, Bailey Wayne Samis, Kaleb Short, Rickey Vaillette, Laramy Smith, Kennadie George,Toby McGee, Brianna McGee, Conner George, Nevaeh Bennett and Wyatt Bennett; brother, Henry Leon Smith and twenty-two nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Smith, his parents, John Henry Smith and Carrie Irene Faulkner Smith, his grandparents, A. Randy Smith and Rachel Bullman, Austin M. Faulkner and Sarah Alice Lester, brothers, James Luther (Luke) Smith, Carl Curtis Smith, sisters, Alma Maria Leinart, Bernice Catherine McMinn, Willie Alyne Bosarge and Cecil Louis Byrd.
He was loved by all.
