Students at Everett Elementary were welcomed to school with a special surprise this morning as Richard McIntyre, a proud grandparent and retired United States Marine Corps member, greeted them dressed in full uniform.
Standing at the front of the school, McIntyre helped students out of their cars and offered smiles, handshakes, and words of encouragement as they started their day. His presence brought both excitement and reverence to the morning, serving as a meaningful reminder of the sacrifices made by those who have served our country.
Staff and students alike expressed appreciation for McIntyre’s service and his dedication to continuing to serve his community.
“It was such a special way to start Veterans Day,” said Melissa Allen, Director of Public Relations. “Our students were thrilled to meet a real-life hero and see what honor and service look like up close.”
North Lamar ISD is proud to honor veterans like McIntyre who continue to inspire and uplift future generations through their example of patriotism and service.
