A series of mill and overlay repaving projects, valued at almost $2 million, is about to begin in the City of Paris.
Contractors will repave select streets in all four quadrants of the city.
City staff presented the city council with a list of streets in need of repaving, prioritized by need and traffic volume.
The list approved by the council was released for bids in May of this year.
On June 9, the City Council approved a contract with R.K. Hall, LLC for the project, and the city’s Engineering Department reduced costs by completing all necessary design documents.
Funding comes from General Obligation Bonds issued in 2017 and 2018, which the city can only use for paving and roadway projects.
Street sections to be repaved:
- Fitzhugh Avenue between Pine Bluff and Hickory Streets
- N. Collegiate Drive between Lamar Avenue and Loop 286
- Campbell Street between NW 13th and 19th Streets
- W. Sherman Street between SW 15th and 19th Streets
- SE 24th Street between Lamar Avenue and Clarksville Street
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive between Fitzhugh and SE 6th Street
- SE 12th Street between Austin Street and the Trail de Paris
- SE 20th Street between Clarksville and Polk Streets
- Graham Street between NW 19th and the railroad tracks near NW 12th Street
- NW 13th Street between Bonham and Campbell Streets
- Pine Mill Road between NE 30th Street and Loop 286
- Pine Mill Road between NE 42nd Street and Braums
R.K. Hall will have 64 calendar days to complete the project after the contract is finalized.
To minimize traffic flow interruptions, some repaving may occur during overnight hours.
