Reno Police Officer sustains minor injuries during foot chase, suspect in custody

A Reno Police Officer is recovering after sustaining minor injuries during a foot pursuit on Wednesday afternoon.

According to reports, a joint investigation with the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office and Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force was being conducted at the Paris Extended Stay Suites, 1518 Lamar Ave, when the suspect fled on foot resulting in the injury of the officer.

“The officer was transported with non-life-threatening injuries for further medical attention,” said Reno Chief of Police Jeremy Massey. “He is expected to be released later this afternoon.”

A manhunt was initiated to find the suspect who fled on foot towards Pine Bluff Rd with the Paris Police Department and Lamar County Sheriff’s Office leading the search for the suspect.

Chief Massey confirmed the suspect was apprehended a short time later and the investigation is ongoing.

Paris EMS, Paris PD, and Paris Fire Department all responded to the scene.
