Beginning on Aug. 7, 2025, Prairiland ISD will no longer permit the use of cell phones, in accordance with HB 1481.
Personal electronic communications devices will not be permitted on school property during the instructional day which includes breakfast, lunch, and passing periods.
The devices include, but are not limited to, cell phones, smart watches, headphones (wired and wireless), personal laptops and tablets.
“We are currently working to update the new legislation,” said Prairiland ISD. “Please begin having discussions with you students now in order to plan accordingly for the upcoming school year.”
