Powderly Volunteer Fire Department is gearing up for this weekend’s Annual Chili Supper and Live Auction Fundraiser with several items to auction off from shotguns to rifles and a custom-made grill to chainsaws.
“We want everyone to come out and join us for a great evening of food, fellowship and all for a great cause,” said Randi Johnson, Powderly VFD information officer. “We love to serve our community and Lamar County, and cannot do it without your support.”
Some items to be auctioned off include:
- 2, .22 rifles
- 3, shotguns
- A 30-06 deer rifle
- An AR
- Trailer
- Custom grill with 24” flattop industrial grade
- Numerous tools (chainsaws, jig saws, miter saw, sanders, sanders etc.)
- Gift cards (food, construction, boutiques, etc.)
“There will be plenty of items for the men, ladies and even the kids,” said Johnson.
The annual chili supper and auction will be in Aaron Parker Elementary School’s Gym, 98 County Road 44112 in Powderly, on Feb. 26 from 4-8 p.m. The fundraiser is donation only and will offer chili with all the trimmings, dessert and drinks. They will also offer corn dogs for the kids.
“This is our comeback year for our fundraiser as COVID set us back on being able to fundraise. All proceeds go to the fire department that helps with monthly expenses, maintenance and any future needs. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy good fellowship for a good cause,” she said.
