An investigation is underway after a female Pit Bull was left at the shelter in freezing temps without shelter or bedding.
According to reports, on Jan. 21 between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., an individual left the dog in an outside pen with no bedding or shelter.
The animal was left out in the weather which, on that night, had a forecast of 31 degrees and freezing rain and wasn’t discovered until the next morning.
“The animal appears to be in good condition in spite of the ordeal, and will be available for adoption if found healthy once the 72 hour hold is over.”
Officials have videos of the incident which is being reviewed and police say charges will be filed if sufficient evidence is compiled.
