Paris Police are investigating several burglaries that occurred over the weekend including two businesses.

Tropical Sno Paris, located at 216 Clarksville Street, arrived at work this morning to find their front window smashed.

“The small walk-up window at the front of the stand was smashed and our register was stolen,” said owner Joe Matthews. “They got away with nothing though as we don’t leave anything there when we lock up.”

Matthews said they had filed a report with the Paris Police Department and are reaching out to the public to see if they have any information.

“We’re hoping someone saw something or might have video surveillance near our store that they could check.”

Another business, located in the 4100 block of Pine Mill Road, reported they had found someone had entered the business through an unknown point of entry and had stolen cash from the office desk.

A burglary in progress was also reported at around 5:00 a.m. Sunday morning in the 3000 block of E Houston Street.

“It was reported that two males had kicked in a door to gain access to the residence and one known suspect had assaulted the victim by striking the victim with the butt end of a pistol,” said Officer Curtis Garrett.

The suspects then fled from the residence. The victim was not injured to the point of needing medical treatment.

The burglaries are under investigation. Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Paris Police Department at 903-784-6688
