Paris Junior College’s TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) recently hosted a t-shirt design contest that gave SSS students a creative outlet to celebrate two meaningful observances: National TRIO Day and National First-Generation College Celebration Day.
SSS students were invited to submit original designs in either or both categories. The contest recognized outstanding student creativity while also highlighting the importance of these nationally celebrated days.
Grace Okon was selected as the winner for the National TRIO Day design category, and MaKya High won for her design honoring National First-Generation Day. Each winner received a free t-shirt featuring their design and had their photo taken for the PJC website to commemorate their achievement.
TRIO SSS is a federally funded program that provides support to first-generation, low-income, and/or students with disabilities to help them succeed in college.
