Patricia Gayle Stevens, 75, of Reno, TX, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, in Arlington, Texas.
A graveside service will be held at East Post Oak Cemetery in Detroit, TX, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 3pm.
Gayle, as she was known to her friends, was born on Oct 12, 1950, in Ft. Worth, TX, to James William “Red” Walker and Marjorie Irene (Baze) Walker. She was the youngest of five children. In 1967, she met Arvie Lee Stevens of Paris, TX, and they married on December 7, 1968. On July 12, 1971, they were blessed with their one and only child, David. Arvie and Gayle were married for 54 years, before his passing in 2023. She was a longtime member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Blossom and was retired from Prairiland ISD.
Throughout the years, Gayle loved spending time with her friends and family, whether it was at Church, playing 42, sharing a good meal, or just enjoying great fellowship. Her first name may have been Patricia but she was known as Gayle, Mama Gayle, Gayle Mama, and Aunt Gayle; however, her favorite name was Memo, as called by her grandchildren Kyla and Donovyn. There was nothing she loved more or was prouder of on this planet than her grandchildren. She shared a special bond through music with Kyla and loved, better yet tried, to keep up with Donovyn throughout the years by following his many sports adventures.
Gayle is survived by her son and daughter-in-law David and Kathy of Aledo; granddaughter Kyla, a senior at the University of Kentucky; grandson Donovyn of Aledo; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sue and Dennis Daugherty; and a host of other family members and very dear friends.
Preceding her in death are husband, Arvie; parents, Red and Marjorie Walker; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Vernon and Evelyn Stevens; her three sisters, Venecia Ann Horton, Sharon Colvin, and JoAnn Boutwell; and her brother Billy Walker.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Gideons International or to the American Heart Association.
