A breakfast was held Tuesday to honor mentors and students at Aaron Parker Elementary.

The successful Mentor Program at Parker is based on the belief that personal attention is a powerful motivator.

Parker counselor Tiffany Page said, “We at Aaron Parker Elementary want to provide this type of motivation for our students.  The mentors who make up this program provide encouragement guidance and strength-development to the students who participate.  Our mentors are volunteers who have a strong belief in the importance of personal attention and have made a commitment to be a part of the program.  Our goal is that the Aaron Parker Mentor Program will help students realize success in school and develop a greater sense of self.”

Mentors visit their student once a week for 20-30 minutes. Anyone wishing to mentor a student at Aaron Parker Elementary next year is encouraged to contact Page at tpage@northlamar.net or by calling 903.737.2003 x3001.
