In April, Hyundai Motor America filmed its “From Paris to Paris: French Cowboy Brings the Best of Both Worlds to Texas” commercials in Paris, Texas.
Locations around historic downtown Paris and other places are featured in the series of videos shared in a Hyundai press release issued on Friday.
The production company created a mural featuring the iconic Eiffel Tower with a Cowboy Hat for the videos.
At the end of filming, the company gave the mural to the City of Paris.
“When I saw the mural, I immediately had ideas for preserving the artwork for our Texas Parisians to enjoy,” Public Information Officer Jon McFadden said. “Our contact person from the production company was able to work out the donation for us.”
The mural is now on display inside the Paris Public Library at 326 S. Main Street.
“I have been looking for Paris-related art pieces to add to the library’s collection,” said Library Director Connie Lawman. “Of course, the answer was yes when Jon called to ask if I would like to display it in the library.”
The mural has been sealed for preservation purposes and hangs on a wall in the recently renovated and upgraded commons area of the library.
The public can view the mural, take photos, or dance in front of it, just like the unconventional cowboy Jean-Luc does in the videos.
