Thursday, September 19, 2024; An officer stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of Bonham St. for an equipment violation and made contact with Laquilla Monikia Lane (40). She was found to have an outstanding warrant for Possession of Controlled Substance out of Lamar County S. O. She was taken into custody without incident.
Thursday, September 19, 2024; An officer of the NE Texas Auto Theft Task Force was conducting trailer inspections when he located a 2023 Big Tex dump trailer which had been reported stolen out of McKinney Texas. The officer confirmed the trailer as stolen and took it into custody after making contact with the reporting party to the theft and the McKinney Police Department. The investigation will continue.
Thursday, September 19, 2024; Officers received a report of a Theft at Wal Mart. Two individuals entered the store and took an item worth under 100.00 and then left the store without offering payment. Both suspects had two previous convictions for theft and so this charge will be enhanced to a felony. Warrants will be sought for the two known suspects.
Thursday, September 19, 2024; A disturbance was reported in the 200 block of NW 4 th St. The victim, a disabled individual 72 years of age, was assaulted by their spouse. The spouse was leaving the residence to prevent further trouble. Alcohol was a factor in the disturbance. A report for injury to the elderly or disabled was made and charges are pending.
Officers made 4 traffic stops, 1 adult arrest, and answered 90 calls for service for this reporting period.
