On Aug. 29, Officers received a report of an assault in the 2600 block of Brame St. They met with a victim who advised that an ex boyfriend, Brien James Demidio (64) of Paris, had assaulted them and then left the scene prior to officer’s arrival. The victim claimed that Demidio had struck them in the face and had also choked them. As officers were speaking with the victim, Demidio returned to the scene. Demidio was found to be intoxicated. Due to the evidence of an assault and Demidio’s return to the scene, Demidio was arrested and charged with Assault of a Family member by impeding breath. He was processed without incident.
On Aug. 29, Officers responded to the 2400 block of Clark Lane in regards to a disturbance. Upon arrival they were advised that Kendarrius Zitwan Reason (27) of Paris had threatened subjects there with a knife. Officers learned that Reasno had gotten into an argument with the victim and had threatened to kill them. He had procured a knife from the kitchen and when the victim ran into another room, had attempted to break down the door to access them. Several witnesses at the scene confirmed the story as did physical evidence. Reasno was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
On Aug. 29, Officers received information that a vehicle from the 2800 block of Mahaffey had been used in a burglary of an ATM in the Honey Grove area. Officers made contact with the vehicle owner who advised that the vehicle was stolen from his property. The owner advised that the vehicle was locked and produced all keys to the vehicle. The vehicle, a 2020 GMC, was towed from the scene of the burglary by a wrecker due to damage sustained during the incident. The NE Texas Auto Theft Task Force is investigating the incident.
On Aug. 31, Officers responded to a shooting which occurred in the 800 block of W. Washington St. The victim, who was located at a bus stop in the area, advised he had been walking in the area when a dark colored pickup truck pulled alongside him and one shot was fired from the passenger side of the vehicle. The projectile struck the subject in the lower leg. Officers provided first aid until medical personnel could arrive. The case is under investigation by the Paris Criminal Investigation Division.
On Aug. 31, Officers responded to another call of a disturbance in the 700 block of NE 12th. Evidence indicated that a known suspect fired several shots in the direction of a residence at that location. The victim is a family member of the known suspect. The victim indicated they did not wish to file charges on the suspect. Officers reported the incident to Child Protective Services. The suspect had left the area prior to officers arrival. The incident is under investigation.
On Aug. 31, a Burglary of a Vehicle was reported in the 1800 block of Jackson Courts. The victim’s advised they saw several juveniles burglarizing their vehicles. They pursued the juveniles on foot but initially lost sight of them. The juveniles were later found and confronted in the area at which time they assaulted the female victim who was attempting to regain possession of a purse the suspects had stolen. The purse and some of the possessions in it were later recovered. The incident is under investigation by NE Texas Auto Theft Task Force and Paris Police Criminal Investigators.
On Sept. 1, Officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of N. Main in regards to a disturbance. Upon arrival they met with a victim who had been in an altercation with a known suspect. During the incident, the victim had been struck with fist as well as pushed to the floor. The victim suffered injuries requiring hospital treatment. Officers spoke with witnesses, obtained video evidence and interviewed the victim. The suspect had left the scene prior to officers response. The incident remains under investigation.
Officers made 50 traffic stops, 12 adult arrest, and answered 276 calls for service during this reporting period.
