Paris Police responded to a theft of a vehicle in the 800 block of S Main St at 8:57 A.M. on October 7, 2022. The victim reported that their 2008 white Chevrolet pick-up was overheating and they pulled over at that location to try to get some water to put in the radiator. As the victim was returning to the vehicle, they observed it being driven away. The investigation continues.
Paris Police responded to a disturbance in the 1300 block of W Sperry Ave at 11:53 A.M. on October 7, 2022. Upon officers arrival. They could hear a male and female argung inside the residence. When officers made contact with the female, the male fled out the back door. Officers chased the male several blocks before the male entered the passenger side of a black Jeep Liberty. The vehicle was driven by the female at the disturbance. The driver refused to stop the vehicle for several blocks. The vehicle came to a stop in the 1400 block of W Brame St and the male ran into the brush. The male, identified as 34 year old Jerimie Tyrell McDonald, of Paris, was located and arrested. He was found to have an outstanding felony warrant charging him with violation of a protective order with at least two prior arrests along with evading arrest or detention. The driver, 42 year old Lometa Ryshette McDonald, was arrested and charged with evading arrest or detention with a vehicle and hindering apprehension of a wanted person. Both were later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to a shots fired call in the 600 block of SW 6th St at 2:57 P.M. on October 7, 2022. The report reflects that 4 male juveniles on bicycles were seen firing a pistol while riding on the roadway. A second witness then directed officers to the spent shell casings. Officers were not able to locate the suspects. A second caller, later in the day, reported several juveniles firing a pistol in the 1800 block of Jackson St. Two of the juveniles were taken into custody and the investigation continues.
At 5:13 P.M. on October 7, 2022, Paris Police met with the victim of a burglary motor vehicle in the 4200 block of Castlegate Dr. The victim reported that sometime during the previous night, someone broke into their vehicle and stole numerous items including a pistol, a Yeti Cooler, a laptop computer, glasses, and clothing. The victim advised that they waited till late in the day to report the incident due to being busy and having to be out of town this morning. The incident is under investigation.
Paris Police observed 33 year old Stephen Ray Easter, Jr, of Paris, walking in the middle of the roadway at 10:58 P.M. on October 7, 2022. Upon making contact with Easter, He was found to have an outstanding bond surrender warrant on a deadly conduct by discharging a firearm case. Easter was arrested and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of NW 13th St at 12:15 A.M. on October 8, 2022 for a defective taillight. The driver, 34 year old Jose Valente Fortuna Lopez, was found to have an outstanding Lamar County warrant charging him with burglary of a building. Lopez was arrested and later placed in the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of Bonham St at 9:49 A.M.on October 8, 2022 for speeding. The driver, identified as Taquavius Jaquoreon Williams, 22, of Paris, was found to be in possession of marijuana, ecstacy, and powder cocaine. Officers also located a set of scales and small baggies. Williams was arrested and charged with 2 counts of manufacture or deliver a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Williams was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to a disturbance in the 400 block of W Provine St at 1:32 P.M. on October 8, 2022. Officers located and arrested 56 year old Randy Laval Wooten after it was reported that he had choked his girlfriend during an argument. Wooten was charged with assault of a family member by impeding breathing and was later placed in the Lamar County Jail.
54 year old Gewndolyn Lashawn Biggerstaff, of Paris, was observed to be intoxicated in the roadway of the 100 block of NW 7th St at 10:20 P.M. on October 8, 2022. After Biggerstaff was arrested, she was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Biggerstaff was charged with public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of Lamar Ave at 11:18 P.M. on October 8, 2022 after the officer observed it to be speeding and swerving. The driver, 46 year old Syndika Raynard Rose, of Honey Grove, Texas, was found to be intoxicated. Rose was arrested and it was discovered that Rose has had at least two prior convictions for driving while intoxicated. This charge was enhanced to a felony. Rose was booked and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 2600 block of N Main St at 11:20 P.M. on October 9, 2022 for a defective tail light. During the stop, the driver was found to have a Municipal Court warrant. The passenger, Stacy Ann Tambunga, 44, of Paris, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Tambunga was charged with possession of a controlled substance. She was booked and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to 248 calls for service and arrested 18 persons over the weekend ending at midnight on October 9, 2022.
