Friday, October 4, at 12:02pm; a Detective with the Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force continued into the ongoing investigation of a Felony Theft Property $30K<$150K. Over $80,000-dollars’ worth of property; including a 2016 GMC pickup, mechanic tools, household furniture, an assortment of other tools and other miscellaneous items were being reported as stolen. The victim’s brother passed away, leaving him as the Independent Executor of a probated Last Will and Testament. The property is missing from his deceased brother’s residence, in the 2600 block of Kessler Drive. The case will be further investigated and presented to the Lamar County District Attorney’s Office.
Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 11:42am; a 12-foot dual axle trailer with a pressure washer, valued at $10,000 dollars was recovered in Hugo, Oklahoma with the joint investigation of the Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force and the Tarrant County Regional Auto Crimes Task Force and the cooperation from a Paris resident, who had purchased the items in 2023. The Paris resident provided “a bill of sale” for the purchase and provided the location of the items, at his second residence in Hugo, where the items were located, inspected, and seized for a future property hearing, to be held before a Judge to determine who has the superior right of possession.
Sunday, October 6, at 1:17pm; a victim reported to a Paris Officer that a storage unit, in her mother’s name, leased in the 600 block of Graham Street had been burglarized. She was last at the location approximately 3 months ago. The company provided lock had been removed. Three coffee tables, a Christmas tree and Christmas décor had been stolen. A shelving cover had been damaged; all resulting in a total loss of $510.
Monday, October 7, 2024, at 3:33pm; a Paris Officer arrested 47-Year-Old Makenzie Corey McGill of Deport at the Adult Probation Office in the 4300 block of Bonham Street on an outstanding warrant from the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department for Felony Probation Violation-Evading Arrest/Detention with Vehicle. McGill was transported to the Paris Police Department Jail and booked.
