Friday, October 4, at 11:09am; a Paris Officer responded to the area of NE 6th Street and East Price Street to a security check relating to a female wanting to turn herself. Contact was made with 39-Year-Old Lajuana Michelle Kitchen. Kitchen advised that she and her boyfriend had gotten into a verbal argument, and she decided to turn herself in, after he kicked her out of the residence. Kitchen was arrested and booked on a Felony Parole Warrant out of Arkansas.
Friday, October 4, at 8:24pm; as a Paris Officer was patrolling in the 3800 block of Lamar Ave, he observed a vehicle with its hazard lights on and no rear lights activated and initiated a traffic stop. Contact was made with the occupants. A 25-Year-Old male passenger was arrested for a Lamar County Class A Misdemeanor Assault Cause Bodily Injury Warrant. Driver, 21-Year-Old Miranda Irene Daniels was arrested on a Lamar County 3 rd degree Felony Credit Card or Debit Card Abuse Elderly Warrant. Two young children in the vehicle, not wearing safety restraints, and the vehicle was release to a family member. Daniels was additionally cited for Child Safety Seat and Fail to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
Saturday, October 5, at 2:58am; during routine patrol, in the vicinity of Lamar Avenue and Loop 286, a Paris Officer observed a white passenger car to be high centered on the concrete median. Upon making contact with the driver, a strong odor of alcohol was detected coming from her person. She was not injured. She failed all three Standard Field Sobriety Tests. 42-Year-Old Shakisha Danielle Smith was arrested and booked for Felony 3rd Degree Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More IAT, due two prior DWI convictions on her criminal history.
Saturday, October 5, at 9:53am; a Paris Officer was dispatched to the 2500 block of East Price Street and took a Felony-Fraud Use Possession of Identifying Information after a victim stated a known suspect had taken photographs of his social security number and his banking information while he was sleeping and had spent $64 dollars to pay her phone bill and had spent $100 at Cefco. The suspect gave a different version of the events. The investigation with continue.
Saturday, October 5, at 3:13pm; a Burglary of a Residence was reported in the 3700 block of Pine Mill Road. The victim stated that an unknown suspect had taken the window air conditioning unit out of the window and crawled through the window. The window unit, a TV and an assortment of furniture was reported as stolen.
Saturday, October 5, at 3:38am; a Lamar County Deputy advised a Paris Officer, who was patrolling in the 3400 block of the Northwest Loop, that a white truck speeding, doing 90 mph in the posted 60 mph, was heading in his direction. The Paris Officer clocked the truck at 98 mph and effected a traffic stop in the 3900 block of Bonham Street. 20-Year-Old Ignacio Aranda of Weslaco, Texas identified himself with a fictitious Texas ID card and stated he had had six Ultra beers and two twisted teas, 20 minutes prior to driving. Aranda was properly identified. He failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Aranda was arrested and booked for Driving While Intoxicated, Fail to ID Fugitive Intent Give False Information, Felony Fraud Use Possession of Identifying Information and Reckless Driving and Fail to Appear Warrants out of New Mexico.
Saturday, October 5, at 3:53pm; during a Criminal Mischief investigation in the 2300 block of East Cherry Street, where the glass in the bus station had been shattered though, contact was made with 46-Year-Old Mia Taisha Tolbert, who initially falsely identified herself to one officer, but was properly identified by a second officer and was placed under arrest for an active warrant out of Lamar County for Felony Motion to Revoke-Driving while intoxicated with 3rd or more convictions and on-view Class A-Fail to Identify Fugitive Intent Giving False Information.
Sunday, October 6, at 10:22pm; two Paris Officers responded to the 3300 block of Darnell Drive to a welfare concern. Dispatch advised that a male subject was sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, with the door open, for approximately one hour. 38-Year-Old Mohammed Khusro Azam was identified and stated he just left his friend’s house where he had been drinking alcohol. Azam failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Test and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Azam was subsequently arrested for Felony Possession of Controlled Substance-THC Wax, Unlaw Carrying Weapon and two Class A-Possession of Controlled Substance-Pills.
