On Oct. 21, officers with the NE Texas Auto Theft Task Force recovered a stolen trailer. The trailer was the same one reported stolen from a business in the 100 block of E. Oak on October 20, 2025. The trailer was located in Forney Texas by a Kaufman County Investigator upon a request for assistance by the Auto Theft Task Force Agents. The suspect was located with the trailer and eventually admitted to having stolen the trailer from the address in Paris. During the course of the investigation it was determined that the suspect had utilized a Freightliner Semi-Truck while stealing the trailer. It was also determined that the truck was stolen out of Ft. Worth Texas in December 2008 and was displaying a fictitious Vehicle Identification Number. The truck was taken as recovered stolen property. Ft. Worth PD was notified of the recovery. The stolen trailer was returned to the owner. The case has been referred to the Lamar County Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
On Oct. 22, Officers reported to the 800 block of Deshong in reference to an assault. The victim who has no regular domicile advised he was sleeping in the 3400 block of Lamar Avenue when he was awakened by someone kicking him. The victim advised that three masked subjects kicked and stomped him and then tried to put him into a vehicle. The victim advised the suspects were unable to get him into the vehicle and then after spitting on him and stealing his “Vape” left the scene. The victim had obvious injuries consistent with assault. Officers checked the area of the assault but due to the fact that a significant amount of time had passed prior to the victim notifying police, they found nothing. The incident is under investigation.
Officers made 16 traffic stops, 4 adult arrest, and answered 123 calls for service during this reporting period.
