On Oct. 18, Officers responded to a traffic accident in the 3700 block of Pine Mill Rd. A vehicle had struck another in a trailer park at that location. Officers made contact with Alfredo Daniel Garcia (30) who identified himself as the driver of one of the vehicles. Garcia was found to be intoxicated and after being administered several field sobriety tests, he was arrested and charged with DWI. It was discovered that Garcia had two prior convictions for DWI and he was charged with DWI 3rd or More, a Felony. He was transported and booked without incident.
On Oct. 18, Officers arrested Justin Kenny Horne (30) after he was involved in a disturbance with a female acquaintance in the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue. Horne was currently under a protective order not to harass or contact the female. The protective order also forbade the possession of firearms for Horne. Horne was found to be in possession of a firearm, which he used to threaten the victim and another subject. Horne was arrested for several misdemeanor traffic warrants as well as Violation of a Protective Order. A handgun was recovered from the vehicle Horne was using.
On Oct. 18, Officers responded to the 3800 block of Lamar about a theft. The suspect, who has now been identified, was caught taking numerous items from the store without paying for them. When confronted by store personnel, the suspect fled the store on foot, got into a vehicle, and left the scene. Officers collected suspect information and the case is under investigation. The suspect had numerous previous convictions for theft, making this a felony incident.
On Oct. 19, Officers located a wrecked vehicle in the 1100 block of Graham St. The vehicle had struck a pole in the 400 block of Graham St and then continued on Graham until it could go no further. Officers had the vehicle towed. Later that same date, officers were contacted by the vehicle owner, who told officers that her juvenile son had taken the vehicle without permission and had contacted her telling her he wrecked the vehicle. The juvenile in question had also left home without permission and was refusing to return home so officers were unable to speak with him. Juvenile was listed as a runaway.
Officers made 38 traffic stops, 8 adult arrest, and answered 272 calls for service for this reporting period (October 18 06:00 – October 21 05:59)
