Tuesday, November 15, 2022: at 1:11pm: Paris PD Officers were dispatched to a report of a Burglary of a Habitation (a house being restored) in the 800 block of West Austin Street. A west side window had been pried up to gain entry. A croquet mallet believed to have been used as the prying tool was located by the window. An Airless Paint Sprayer with two 50 foot hoses, valued at $1200 was stolen from the inside. Officer are checking with neighbors for any activity that may have been captured on surveillance cameras.
Wednesday, November 16, 2022: at 2:32am Paris Police Officer observed a subject standing in front of a closed business in the 600 block of Bonham Street. Officer made contact with the subject to check her welfare. 35-year-old Melissa Renee Smith of Detroit was arrested for a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Warrant for Probation Violation-Possession Controlled Substance and also other Paris Municipal Class C warrants. Smith was booked into the Paris City Jail.
Wednesday, November 16, 2022: at 2:33am: Paris Police Officer initiated a traffic stop in the 700 block of East Austin Street on a vehicle with three occupants. Driver, 64-year-old Ricky Earl Barnett of Blossom was arrest for Possession of Controlled Substance for methamphetamine located in a chip bag in the front center console and also Paris Municipal warrant Possession Drug Paraphernalia. Front seat passenger 50-year-old Dawn Marie Manor of Paris was arrested for an outstanding Felony Bond Forfeiture warrant out of Hopkins County and also Fail to ID Fugitive Intent Give False Info as she identified herself as Shelly Barnett. Backseat passenger 42-year-old Erik Lynn Gilbert of Paris was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance for methamphetamine located in the back floorboard and also Lamar County warrant Motion to Revoke Probation. All three subjects were booked into the Paris Jail.
