On Monday, May 8, 2023 at 8:33am; a victim told a Paris Police Officer that she was away from her home all night and return this morning to her residence in the 100 block of NE 25th and discovered a Burglary. The rear door frame was broken. Several partial foot prints were on the face of the back door, where the suspect used their shoe to kick the door open. A PlayStation 5 and a 55” Vizio television; valuing at $800 had been stolen. Prints were lifted from the door.
Three days later; on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 10:56am a Paris Police Officer responded to the 2400 block of NE Loop 286 and took a second Burglary of storage units report. Several additional storage unit locks were cut and broken into. One renter that happened to be on scene was missing four oxygen tanks, two gas containers and Dewalt tools from his storage unit. The business owner is in the process of contacting other victims.
On Monday, May 8th, 2023 at 2:17pm, Paris Officers were dispatched to a disturbance in progress in the 1400 block of East Houston Street, wherein the caller advised dispatch that a woman hired him to work on the house and the husband fought him. Husband, 37-Year-Old Luis Antonio Duran of Paris admitted to using methamphetamine about two hours prior to officer’s arrival and walked officers to a backyard shop and grabbed a white plastic container that contained a clear crystal like substance, testing positive for methamphetamine. Duran was taken into custody for Possession of Controlled Substance and booked into the Paris Police Jail. Two Class “A” Assaults are being investigated.
On Monday, May 8, 2023 at 3:24 pm, a Community Service Officer spoke with a Credit Union Representative, who advised a customer’s account had unauthorized withdrawals from their account at two different locations. $3,000 was unauthorized withdrawn from a Paris location and $2500.00 was unauthorized withdrawn from a Shreveport, Louisiana location. The withdrawals were made with a teller in the bank, not at the ATM. Presumably the suspect presented ID to make the withdrawals. A Fraud Use Possession Identifying Information will be investigated.
On Monday, May 8, 2023 at 5:45pm; Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Washington Street and spoke with a property manager for Best Buyers Homes LLC and took a Burglary report. The back door to the residence was open and had a damaged door knob/lockset. The residence appears to be in an early renovation stage. Sheets of sheetrock/drywall were damaged, a five-gallon bucket of white interior paint was missing and a new toilet bowl/tank (still in box, valued at $100) was missing.
Monday, May 8, 2023: The Paris Police Department responded to 80 Calls for Service, arrested 1 adult person and made 12 traffic stops.
