On May 9, Officers stopped Jesus Javier Aaron Hernandez (21) in the 400 block of West Kaufman after being contacted about an intoxicated driver. Hernandez was found to be intoxicated. He refused to complete field sobriety test. A warrant was obtained for his blood for testing purposes. A handgun was located inside the vehicle and Hernandez had outstanding municipal warrants. He was charged with DWI, Unlawful Carrying of Weapon, and a city warrant for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was transported to Lamar County Jail.
On May 9, officers responded to a disturbance in the 600 block of SW 4th St. They made contact with Leslie Jay Massey (34). A subsequent search of Massey’s person for weapons resulted in the location of a quantity of Methamphetamine. Massey was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance. He was arrested without incident.
On May 9, officers took a report of a burglary of a habitation in the 1800 block of E. Washington. The victim advised a known suspect entered his residence by reaching through a window and then stole some prescription medications. The investigation will continue.
On May 9, multiple officers responded to the 500 block of Deshong Drive in regards to a shots fired call. Officers arrived and spoke with several witnesses and a victim, who advised that a known suspect had entered the apartment with a firearm without permission. Once inside the suspect held the victim at gunpoint while he robbed them of cash and fired one shot in their direction as they were going to exit the room. The incident was investigated and a handgun , shell casing, and marijuana were recovered from the apartment. The suspect was identified from photographs. The investigation will continue.
A report of a burglary of vehicle was made at Kroger, 1310 Clarksville St. The victim advised that their vehicle was burglarized between 0800 and 13:00 on that date. Suspect stole the victim’s wallet containing identity and credit cards, which they used later on a cash app, and a handgun. The doors appeared to have been unlocked. Investigation will continue.
