An officer was dispatched to the 2600 block of Lamar Avenue at about 0800 on a security check. He contacted Holly Caffey at the location. In the conversation that followed, it was learned that Caffey was in possession of drug paraphernalia within her vehicle. A subsequent search found narcotics and other drugh paraphernalia in the vehicle. She was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, booked, and transported to Lamar County Jail.
At approximately 1740 officers were dispatched to a disturbance call in the 200 block of Brame St. The victim said that an a Hispanic female, later identified as Maria Garza had fired a handgun at the house. When the officers arrived in the area, Garza fled on foot but was eventually apprehended in the 400 block of SE 3rd St. Officers advised there was a bullet hole in the residence of the initial call. At that time Garza was arrested for Deadly Conduct and Evading Arrest. A firearm was recovered at the time of Garza being taken into custody. Garza was later found to be in possession of narcotics as well as narcotics paraphernalia as well as stolen checks a Criminal History revealed that she was also a convicted felon. She was ultimately charged with Deadly Conduct; Felon in Possession of Firearm; Poss Controlled Substance; Evading Arrest, and Fraudulent Use of Identifying Information. At the time of booking she was uncooperative. No photo is available. She was placed in jail.
At approximately 1519, officers stopped a vehicle in the 2300 block of Lamar Avenue. They made contact with Noah Jackson and Breanna Wolfe. There was a smell of Marijuana within the vehicle as well as marijuana within view of the officers. A search revealed a handgun with the serial number defaced as well as more marijuana. Jackson was arrested for a Warrant out of Fannin County, Tampering with Identifying numbers, Possession of Marijuana, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Wolfe was arrested for Possession of Marijuana. Both were booked into the city jail and then taken to Lamar County Jail.
An officer stopped a driver for no seatbelt at about 1630 in the 300 block of E. Grove St. at about 1626. A warrant check revealed that the driver, Richard Devante Willams was wanted on a Parole Warrant for Aggravated Robbery Escape Felon out of the Austin Parole Board. Williams was arrested and booked then placed in the Lamar County Jail.
