On May 11 at 1120, Officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Lamar Avenue in regards to a guest at a local motel refusing to leave after checkout time. While officers were conduction their investigaton and speaking with the suspect, Christina Michelle Lovan, she began running away from the location. She was ordered to stop but continued fleeing on foot. She was captured and arrested for Evading Arrest. Drug pararphernalia was found in her possession. She was cited for he paraphernalia.
Officers went to the 500 block of Polk St at 1132. in an attempt to locate Deja Pearson, a suspect in a burglary. When they arrived, one of them observed Pearson inside the residence smoking methamphetamine. Officers knocked and were given permission to enter the house by a property owner. Pearson admitted to having been smoking the narcotics and had more in her possession. She was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance.
At 1236, officers responded to the 2400 block of N. Main in regards to a subject attempting to return stolen items to the store. They made contact with Daniel Lynn Price and detained him for questioning. A warrant check revealed warrants from Van Zandt County for DWI and Kaufman County for Theft. While being escorted to a Police Unit, Price began struggling and resisting transport. He continued to resist transport and had to be placed in the patrol car. He was charged with the outstanding warrant from Kaufman County as well as with Resisting Arrest.
An officer responded to an individual sleeping in a running vehicle in the 600 block of Fitzhugh St. a 0829 on May 11. He made contact with Dakota Tippet who was found to be intoxicated and in possession of Methamphetamine. Tippet was given field sobriety test and confirmed to be intoxicated. He was charged with DWI as well as Possession of Controlled Substance.
