On Mar. 27, An officer located a vehicle with damaged tires in the 600 block of Clarksville St. The driver, Jonathan Alexander DeLaCerda (28) told the officer he had struck the curb. DeLaCerda was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and after a blood draw was taken to the station for booking. During the booking process cocaine was found in DeLaCerda’s wallet wrapped in cash. He was subsequently charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and taken to county jail.
On Mar. 27, Officers arrested Zamontre Quavon Morris (27) on open warrants for Theft under $2500.00 with two prior convictions and Credit or Debit Card Abuse. Morris was located in the 500 block of Grand Avenue. The arrest is the culmination of an investigation in which Morris was identified as having stolen a victim’s credit card from her purse and used it for a transaction. Morris was booked and taken to county jail.
On Mar. 28, Officers were notified of a theft occurring in the 1800 block of Bonham St. Officers received information that Darrel Wayne Buhrmester (49) had entered the business and taken alcoholic beverages. Buhrmester began consuming the items on scene without paying for them. Buhrmester was located in the area and found to be in possession of stolen property. He was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication. A criminal history revealed Buhrmester to have prior charges of Theft. He was charged with Theft under $2500.00 with two prior convictions, a Felony. He was taken to city jail.
On Mar. 28, Officers responded to a report of a Burglary of a Habitation in the 1100 block of NE 16th. The victims reported that one of the victim’s child’s father had come to the residence, broken in the front door and assaulted the victims by striking them multiple times with his fist. The suspect had left prior to officers arrival. Medical assistance was called for the victim and the known suspect could not be located. The case remains under investigation.
On Mar. 29, a theft was reported in the 1300 block of W. Kaufman St. The victim, who resides in another state reported that four vehicles had been stolen from the property. A storage container and a travel trailer on the property had also been burglarized. Suspects stole numerous tools and equipment as well as the titles and keys to the vehicles. Auto Theft Task Force was notified and the case is under investigation.
Officers made 118 traffic stops, 12 adult arrest, and answered 256 calls for service during this reporting period.
