Friday, March 17, 2023 at 1:02pm: Paris Officers went to the 500 block of SE 15th Street in an attempt to serve a misdemeanor arrest warrant. While awaiting 40-Year-Old Samuel Luciano Cardenas of Paris, to answer the door; the odor of marijuana was smelled while standing outside Cardenas’ closed front door. Cardenas was arrested and a search warrant was obtained for Cardenas’ residence based upon marijuana violations. Upon executing the search warrant; contraband of Powder Cocaine; Oxycodone, Amphetamine, Hydrocodone Clonazepam and other Dangerous Drug were located. Cardenas was additionally arrested for 5 counts of Possession of Controlled Substance, 2 counts Possession Dangerous Drug and 1 count Possession of Marijuana; along with the Misdemeanor Warrant-Harboring a Runaway. He was booked into the Paris Jail.
Friday, March 17, 2023 at 8:27pm: Paris Dispatch received a call of a vehicle on 82 West6200 block of Bonham Street; swerving all over the roadway and driving at high rate of speed. The caller followed the vehicle until a Paris Officer was able to make a traffic stop in the 200 block of NE 25th Street; where the vehicle fail to maintain a single lane, causing another vehicle to swerve to avoid a collision. Contact was made with Driver-40-Year-Old Pedro Hurtado Gaytan of Paris. Two young children in the vehicle were released to their mother. Gaytan’s lack of performance of the Standardize Field Sobriety Test lead him to handcuffs and booking into the Paris Jail for Driving While Intoxicated with Child under 15 Years of Age.
Friday, March 17, 2023 at 11:54pm: It is believed that Homeless 31-Year-Old Trinity Devon McGee turned himself in to the Police. Paris Dispatch received a call from a male subject stating that “he is a wanted man-wanted for parole and is running from life”. A Paris Officer responded to the 1000 block of Polk Street to a security check; identified McGee; confirmed a Parole Violation Warrant and took McGee into custody.
Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:16am: A shoplifter entered a grocery store in the 900 block of Clarksville Street, stole food from the deli section and left before being apprehended. He later returned, stole a beer and evaded apprehension again. The subject has now been identified. A report for Theft Property <$2,500 with 2/More Previous Convictions will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office for a Warrant.
Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:57am: Two Paris Officers were dispatched to a traffic hazard at the corner of E Price and N Collegiate where a male was reported to be standing in the middle of the street. Contact was made with 55-Year-Old-Delbert Leory Seelye Jr of Paris; who seemed to be under the influence of some type of narcotic. A meth pipe and an empty Altoids container, with a white crystal like substance inside were located on his person. The crystal substance tested positive for methamphetamine and Seelye was arrested and booked into the Paris Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 3:33pm: A victim told a Paris Officer that she had been out of town for the last three weeks and returned to an unlocked front door and realized that her home had been burglarized. She is reporting over $6,000 dollars’ worth of electronics, tools, etc. missing. A partial fingerprint was lifted.
Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 11:25am: A couple of days after an Officer took a report of a 2006 Fontaine Trailer, valued at $10,000, stolen from the 2400 Block of South Church Street; wherein the victim believes that his leased trailer was sold without his permission; Auto Theft Task Force took a report from the victim/owner of a Truck-Tractor. The victim’s father passed away in April of 2022 and had left the Truck-Tractor to her. The Auto Theft Force will continue their investigation to locate both the Trailer and the Truck-Tractor.
Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 1:46pm: Officer was dispatched to a Burglary in the 800 Block of SE 20th Street. The victim advised Officer that unknown suspects had made entry through a window and stole medication, jewelry and other miscellaneous items. Due to the extensive amount of dirt on the window/windowsill; fingerprints were not lifted.
Friday, March 17, 2023 through Sunday, March 19: The Paris Police Department responded to 181 Calls for Service and arrested 18 adult persons.
