On Mar. 16, Officers responded to the 10 block of W. Hickory on a warrant arrest. There they arrested Devon Alan Shelby (26) on outstanding warrants out of Red River County including the charges of Continuous Violence Against the Family and two counts of Injury to a Child/Elderly/or Disabled Individual. Shelby was booked and transported to Lamar County Jail without incident.
On Mar. 16, An officer received a report of multiple assaults against a family member. The assaults allegedly occurred in the 2900 block of 19th NW as well as in the 2-300 block of Deshong Drive. The victim advised that her husband had assaulted her at their home on 19th NW by pushing her down as well as pushing her into furnishings within the home. The suspect had also choked the victim with his hands. The next evening, the suspect had shoved the victim against a fence and held her there until a witness arrived to stop the assault. Officers observed injuries to the victim, collected evidence and assisted the victim with obtaining an emergency protective order. The incident remains under investigation.
Officers made 17 traffic stops, 4 adult arrest, and answered 84 calls for service during this reporting period.
