Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 10:51am: 50-year-old Stanley Dewayne Allen of Paris was taken into custody by a Paris Police Officer and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail for a Parole Violation Warrant-Aggravated Assault Causes Serious Bodily Injury; after a driver of a vehicle that Allen was a passenger in, was stopped in the 300 block of NW 12th Street for failing to signal a turn. The driver was clear of warrants and was released at the scene.
Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 11:45am: Paris Police Community Service Officer met an Area Loss Prevention Officer for a Beauty Store, located in the 3500 block of Lamar Avenue, in the Police Lobby. Over of course of approximately two months; two employees had been marking down the prices of items, then purchasing the items for themselves or selling the items to other associates. The mark downs were significant, resulting in over a $5,000.00 loss to the store. A Felony Theft is under investigation.
Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 7:19pm: Paris Police Officer responded to the 300 block of NW 14th Street to a Shots Fired Call. The complainant believed that she had been shot at as she was getting into her vehicle, from being dropped off by her daughter at her daughter’s residence. The daughter believes the shooter was a female that had confronted her earlier at a church, about her child pushing her child while in church and had driven by her residence and fired shots. Officer was unable to locate any shell casings and did not locate any bullet holes in any surrounding structures. A Felony Deadly Conduct-Discharge Firearm report was taken.
Wednesday, March 1, 2023: The Paris Police Department responded to 76 Calls for Service and arrested 4 adult persons.
