On June 25, Officers received a report of a theft of vehicle from the 1600 block of Bonham St. The vehicle, a Uhaul truck had been rented on June 3, 2025 and was to have been returned on June 10, 2025. As of the report date, the truck had still not been returned. All attempts to contact the renting party were unsuccessful. The suspect told witnesses she was moving to California. The truck was entered as stolen in TCIC/NCIC.
On June 25, Officers were notified of an assault which had taken place at the Salvation Army in the 300 block of W. Kaufman. The spoke to the 85 year old victim who advised he had been pushed to the ground by a known subject. The two had gotten into a verbal altercation and the suspect had pushed the victim off an approximately 6” high concrete pad causing him to fall onto his back causing pain. Witnesses to the incident were interviewed and video was obtained of the incident. The suspect had left the scene but was later located. The suspect confirmed the story of the victim and witnesses. A warrant will be sought for the arrest of the suspect. Due to the age of the victim charges of Assault of the Elderly will be filed, a felony.
On June 25, an officer received a report of a Theft of Narcotics from a Healthcare Facility in the 1000 block of Clarksville St. According to the reporting party, a known employee is suspected of taking a substantial amount of narcotics from the safe at the business. The employee was terminated and the incident is under investigation.
On June 25, while working a separate violation in the 2500 block of Lamar Avenue, Officers located a firearm in an apartment where illegal narcotics were being used. The possessor of he firearm was already under arrest for misdemeanor warrants. The firearm was made safe and seized due to the illegal possession due to narcotics in the apartment.
Officers made 35 traffic stops, 3 adult arrest, and answered 82 calls for service during this reporting period.
