On Jan. 8 at 7:58 a.m., officers were notified of a burglary of a vehicle which had occurred in the 4200 block of Castlegate. The victim advised that his father’s truck, which had been parked at his residence, had been entered without permission and a Canik handgun, ammunition, and blank checks had been stolen. A neighbor had sent a message to the victim at about 0100 advising them to lock their vehicle as they had seen someone prowling in the area on their video. The victim had not gotten the message until the morning of the report. The vehicle was unlocked. Another vehicle was burglarized in the same area in the 700 block of Pecan Court. In this instance the victim advised that the vehicle was locked and that they heard their car alarm go off at approximately 0500 but did not check it out. A Walther .22 caliber pistol was stolen from the console of that vehicle. Citizens are again advised to make sure their vehicles are locked and to not keep firearms unsecured in the vehicle.
On Jan. 8 at 12:44 p.m., a report of indecent exposure was received. The victim was sitting in a vehicle in the 4500 block of the SE Loop when an individual who lives in the area began exposing themselves to the complainant. The victim videotaped the incident and turned over the evidence to the department for further investigation. The suspect’s identity is known and the investigation is ongoing.
On Jan. 8 at 12:46 p.m., an officer investigated a theft of a catalytic converter as well as the theft of a trailer at a residence in the 1100 block of Pine Bluff St. The owner advised the trailer and converter were missing from the back yard and that the last time the trailer was seen was approximately a week ago. The trailer was entered as stolen in National Database.
01/05 1315 An officer responded to a burglary at 865 Deshong. A suspect had entered a closed lab (suite) and had stolen a laptop computer valued at 2200.00. The suspect left numerous types of evidence at the scene, which were collected, and the investigation is ongoing.
On Jan. 5 at 8:09 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of S. Church in regards to a robbery. Four suspects entered the business and stole numerous containers of lottery tickets. Some of the subjects distracted the clerks while others stole the tickets. Evidence was collected, including a possible identity of some of the suspects and the investigation is ongoing.
