On Jan. 7, Officers were notified of a Theft of a Vehicle. The victim advised her ex boyfriend, Jeremy Landon Faulk Jr (36) had come to a location in the 1000 block of W. Houston offering to repair some damage he had done. Faulk then jumped in the victim’s 2004 Ford pickup and left the scene. The vehicle was later stopped by officers in the 500 block of E. Houston Street. Faulk was found to be the driver but denied taking the vehicle without permission. He could produce no evidence refuting the claim that he had taken the vehicle without permission and so was arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. He was booked and placed in jail.
On Jan. 7, Officers arrested James Arthur Baxley (60) after being summoned to the Parole Office. Baxley had an outstanding Parole Violation Warrant for DWI 3rd or more. He was arrested and transported to county jail without incident.
Onn Jan. 7, The department received information that subjects in a tan vehicle located in the 1600 block of E. Price were using narcotics. Officers arrived and made contact with two subjects in the vehicle. The officers detected the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The two subjects were removed from the vehicle. One of the subjects, Brandi Faye Martin (46) was found to be in possession of marijuana. Later on during the detention, a small bag containing narcotics was found near the area where the two suspects were standing. By reviewing video it was determined that Martin had discarded the package in an attempt to avoid being caught with the drugs. Martin was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Tampering/Fabricating Evidence. She was booked without incident and taken to county jail.
Officers made 39 traffic stops, 6 adult arrest, and answered 82 calls for service during this reporting period.
