On Dec. 31, Officers responded to the 500 block of Clarksville to a disturbance call. The victim advised she had been in an argument with a subject and during the argument she was holding onto a vehicle door as she and the subject argued. The driver of the vehicle, not the subject in the argument drove away and the victim fell down. The vehicle ran over the victim’s hand. The victim did not think the driver knew she hurt her hand nor did the victim believe the driver had committed the assault intentionally. The case is under investigation.
On Dec. 31, an officer received a report of a Credit Card Abuse occurring in the 3100 block of NE Loop 286. The victim advised he lost his wallet on the parking lot of the business around noon. At 1330 hours a subject used the victim’s credit card to make a purchase at the store as well as at several other stores in the Paris area. The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the incident.
On Dec. 31, a second incident of Credit Card Abuse occurred when a victim living in the 200 block of NW 31st reported someone making unauthorized purchases on a cash card in the Houston area. The victim had no suspects and the incident is under investigation.
On Jan. 1, Korbin Neal Day (34) was stopped for traffic violations in the 1300 block of Lamar Avenue. Day was found to be in a diminished state of consciousness, possibly from drug use. Day was also found to be in possession of prescription medications for which he had no prescription as well as cocaine and paraphernalia commonly used for the ingestion of cocaine. Day was placed under arrest, evidence was collected and Day was booked and transferred to Lamar County.
On Jan. 1, an officer responded to 125 Brown Avenue to make contact with a victim of an assault occurring in the 1000 block of Bonham St. The victim stated she and a boyfriend were breaking up and he asked her to bring him his property which she was doing. The victim stated that when she met the suspect, who assaulted her by choking her, striking her with his hands, and banging her head against her vehicle and the ground. The suspect’s identity is known, and warrants will be obtained. The victim requested a protective order against the suspect.
Officers made 43 traffic stops, 1 adult arrest, and answered 94 calls for service during this reporting period.
