Paris Police spoke with a victim of a fraud at 10:55 A.M. on February 9, 2023. The victim reported that they had received a notification from a delivery service who stated that they had attempted to make a delivery to the victim’s address but that the victim’s address could not be located so the victim would have to make an additional delivery fee for the package to be delivered. The victim gave the caller their bank debit card number. The victim later discovered that two large amounts had been removed from their account. The incident is under investigation.
At 4:42 A.M. on February 9, 2023, Paris Police responded to a criminal trespass in the 3800 block of Lamar Ave. Officers located and arrested 46 year old Reggie Lamont McCarty, of Paris, was was found to have been criminally trespassed from the property. During the investigation, it was found that McCarty had stolen some merchandise. Due to McCarty having at least two prior convictions for theft, McCarty was charged with a felony theft. McCarty was booked and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
