On Feb. 27, Officers stopped a vehicle in the 1300 block of W. Shiloh for an improper tag return. The officer made contact with the driver, Brian Ulises Hernandez Holguin (26) and the passenger, Christy Renaye Spencer (43). The officers observed open containers of alcoholic beverages in plain view inside the vehicle. As the officers requested that two occupants to exit the vehicle, an object was heard to strike the ground next to the vehicle. The officers later discovered a handgun laying on the ground next to the passenger side of the vehicle. A consensual search revealed narcotics in the vehicle as well. Both subjects denied any knowledge of the handgun or the narcotics. Both were arrested and charged with Possession of controlled substance and Unlawful carrying of a weapon. Holguin was also charged with displaying a fictitious tag. Spencer was also charged with outstanding Municipal warrants.
Officers made 18 traffic stops, 8 adult arrest, and answered 95 calls for service for this reporting period.
