On Dec. 4, Officers were notified of a Theft of Aluminum occurring in the 700 block of W. Center St. The business is a metal sales and scrap yard and frequently buy all types of metals. The suspect, Jason Lyle Mooneyham (54), had come to the office with nothing to sell. He had driven off and shortly returned with several aluminum window frames. The employees recognized the frames as some belonging to the business that had been moved the day before. When confronted of this, Mooneyham drove away. A subsequent investigation substantiated that Mooneyham had stolen the window frames from the complainant. Mooneyham was later stopped and arrested for an outstanding harassment warrant out of Parker County. When questioned about the stolen metal he confessed and provided the location to officers. Officers of the Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force recovered the property and it was returned to the owners. Mooneyham was subsequently charged with Theft of Material, Aluminum, a Felony.
On Dec. 5, Officers responded to the 600 block of E Austin St in reference to a report of a burglary in progress. When Officers arrived on scene they observed the front glass door to residence to be shattered, with no entry into the house. No suspect was observed on scene or in the area. Officers spoke with the residents gathered their information, took photographs of the damage, and departed the scene. The incident is currently under investigation
Officers made 31 traffic stops, 4 adult arrest, and answered 87 calls for service during this reporting period.
