On Dec. 17, Officers stopped Jimmy Lee Rowland (54) for a seatbelt violation in the 10 block of SW 7th. Rowland had no Drivers License in his possession and was visibly nervous. Rowland was removed from the vehicle and given a pat-down for weapons. A medicine bottle was found in his pants pocket. The bottle which was not labeled, contained methamphetamine. Rowland was arrested for no seatbelt and for Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was booked and placed in city jail.
On Dec. 17, The department was notified of a Fraud which had taken place and was reported in the 3500 block of N. Main Street. The victim had received a fraudulent invoice from an individual posing as a local trailer manufacturer. The victim paid the invoice an amount over $100,000.00 and was later notified by the business that they had not received the funds and indicating that a “Scam” had taken place. The incident is under investigation.
Officers made 26 traffic stops, 3 adult arrest, and answered 95 calls for service during this reporting period.
