On Dec. 16, Officers arrested Aaron Bryan Callaway (36) at the Parole Office on an outstanding warrant for Parole Violation (Assault Family Violence, Impeding Breath). Callaway was booked and placed in County Jail.
On Dec. 16, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of SE 15th St in reference to a family disturbance and assault. The 33 year old victim advised she had been home when multiple family members showed up at her residence and assaulted her by choking her and striking her with fist and a stick. The suspects had left the scene prior to officers arrival. During the investigation is was revealed that one of the suspects, Corey Deshon Garvin (45), had choked the victim at least two times leaving physical evidence on her neck as well as striking her in the face with his fist, leaving physical evidence of that assault as well. Officers located Garvin in the 2500 block of Briarwood Dr. and placed him under arrest for Assault of a Family Member by Impeding Breath, a Felony. Garvin was booked and taken to County Jail without incident. Request for prosecution of the remaining suspects will be forthcoming.
On Dec. 16, Officers arrested Mario Deshun Gill (49) at the Parole Office on an outstanding warrant for Parole Violation (Possession of a Dangerous Drug). Gill was booked and placed in County Jail.
On Dec. 16, Officers were notified of a Theft over 2,500.00 occurring in the 2000 block of Spur 139. Suspects stole a Zero Turn Lawn Mower from the location at approximately 04:45 AM on that date. Officers collected evidence in the case and the investigation is ongoing.
On Dec. 16, An officer stopped several subjects in the 1000 block of W. Shiloh for walking in the roadway. One of the subjects was identified as Damon Earl Layton (37). Layton was known by the officer to have an outstanding warrant for Burglary of a Coin Operated Machine, stemming from an October incident in which Layton was known to have burglarized auto vacuum cleaners in the 1800 block of Clarksville St. Layton was arrested on the warrant. A subsequent search of Layton’s property revealed him to be in possession of narcotics paraphernalia as well as Methamphetamine. Layton was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in addition to the warrant arrest. He was transferred to Lamar County Jail after booking.
On Dec. 17, An officer attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding and passing in a non passing zone in the 1200 block of 19th NW. The driver, upon seeing the patrol unit attempting to stop him, sped up in an attempt to evade the patrol vehicle. The officer had to maintain substantial speeds in order to catch the fleeing vehicle. The driver, identified as Columbie Leyan Lescaille (34), finally stopped in the 3400 block of FM 79. He denied knowledge of the officers intent to stop him. Lescaille was arrested for Evading Arrest in a Vehicle, a Felony. He was booked and placed in jail without incident.
Officers made 23 traffic stops, 6 adult arrest, and answered 89 calls for service during this reporting period.
