REMINDER to obey speed limits, be Alert and be Cautious in School Zones. On Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 4:16pm; Paris Officers responded to the 600 block of South Collegiate Drive to an Injury Accident. It was reported that a vehicle had hit a child’s leg. A 10-Year-Old male child was transported to Paris Regional Health by Paris EMS. The child is believed to be okay. A PISD School Resource Officer will again follow-up with the child and provide an update of his condition.
Wednesday, August 14, at 7:44am; Paris Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of South Collegiate Drive to assist EMS with a female appearing to have fallen asleep in a drive-through, in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. 57-Year-Old Tammy Marie Rose was awaken and stated that she was tired. A beer can was observed in the vehicle. Rose showed no signs of intoxication while speaking. A further search, led Rose to being arrested and booked into the Paris Jail for Third Degree Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine.
Wednesday, August 14, at 3:29pm; a Community Service Officer met with an associate of a home health service, who had received a letter at her business, notifying her that an employee had filed for unemployment as a result of a permanent layoff. She had not laid off any employees and when reviewing the information on the letter, discovered that the person who had filed for the benefits, had used her name and her social security number. A Felony-Fraud Use/Possession Identifying Information is under investigation.
Wednesday, August 14, at 5:24pm; Paris Officers responded to the 300 block of SW 16th Street for a warrant arrest and observed a subject sitting outside the address on a truck bed. Contact was made and the subject was identified as 30-Year-Old Tyler Scott Headley. Headley was taken into custody for a Third Degree Felony Warrant-Evading Arrest Detention W Vehicle resulting from an incident earlier in June, where he had been on a motorcycle, evaded officers, crashed in the 1800 block of SE 6th Street and then evaded on foot.
Saturday, August 10 at 8:41pm; Paris EMS and Paris Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of Lamar Avenue to a Traffic Accident with Injury. A white male with no identification, wearing no reflective gear or lights, operating a bicycle with no lights, had been hit by a vehicle. Paris EMS immediately transported the male, with a head injury, to Paris Regional Health, from there he was later flown by Air Evac to Medical City-Plano for further medical attention. Several witnesses were on scene. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and has been cooperating with the Police. From prior encounters, an on-scene officer suspected the male to be Jearmey Morgan, but exhausted all leads to make a positive identification at the time of the accident. This is an on-going investigation with the Paris Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
