On Aug. 13, Officers arrested Chad Christopher Boettcher (28) on an outstanding warrant for Injury to a Child or Elderly Individual, a Felony. He was contacted in the 1200 block of East Kaufman St. and arrested without incident. The arrest stems from an incident occurring in May 2024 in which it was alleged that Boettcher was physically abusing a child in his care. Incident in ongoing.
On Aug. 13, Officers arrested Ronnie Lynn Farris (48) for an outstanding Parole Warrant after contacting him at the Paris Parole Office. He was transported to Lamar County Jail.
On Aug. 13, Officers received a report of a Burglary of a Vehicle in the 10 block of SE 24th St. The victim advised that during the nighttime hours an unknown suspect had entered her unlocked vehicle and stolen a small amount of cash and a handgun from her center console. The incident is being investigated by the NE Texas Auto Theft Task Force.
On Aug. 13, Officers responded to a Burglar Alarm in the 1200 block of Lamar Avenue at 10:46 PM. They arrived and found that a front door glass had been broken out and observed a claw hammer laying in the floor of the building. Officers entered and confirmed the security of the building and notified the owner of the business who soon arrived on scene. The owner confirmed that the cash register of the business was missing. The register contained a moderate amount of cash. Nothing else was found to be missing. Evidence was collected and the investigation will be forthcoming.
