On Aug. 9, Isaiah Xyquies Johnson (32) was arrested for Evading Arrest in a Vehicle after an officer observed him traveling at approximately 50 miles per hour in the 1000 block of Fitzhugh St. When the officer attempted to stop Johnson, Johnson fled the officer in his vehicle making turns while continuing to accelerate in an attempt to evade pursuit. Johnson finally stopped and exited his vehicle in the 800 block of NE 12th where he was taken into custody and charged. He was processed without incident and taken to the Lamar County Jail. Marijuana and other drug paraphernalia was found in Johnson’s vehicle.
