On Aug. 11, Officers were dispatched to a fight in progress in the 1300 block of Clarksville Street. Officers found a male and female matching the description the caller had provided to dispatch. The female, Dawn Marae Dickerson (20), told officers that another male had come over to where she and her boyfriend were and knocked the boyfriend out, and she then stepped in to defend her boyfriend. Officers spoke to multiple witnesses and viewed cellphone videos that showed Dickerson to be the aggressor in an assault on her boyfriend, resulting in multiple injuries to both parties. Witnesses also shared that Dickerson had driven the boyfriend’s car and attempted to hit him with it. Dickerson was arrested for Aggravated Assault of a date or family member with a deadly weapon and booked in the City of Paris jail without further incident.
On Aug. 11, Officers responded to an assault call in the 2500 block of Graham Street. Upon arrival, the caller advised that her on-again, off-again boyfriend had assaulted her. The officers were unable to locate the boyfriend but entered a report for further investigation.
On Aug. 11, Officers were dispatched to a disturbance call in the 3400 block of Clement Road. Officers spoke with a female who said her sister had come to the location and assaulted her. Officers also spoke with the female’s boyfriend, who had witnessed part of the altercation as the victim was attempting to stop the assault. A friend of the aggressor also arrived, attempted to calm the situation, and convinced the aggressor to leave. Officers entered a report, which will be investigated further.
Officers made 14 traffic stops, 2 adult arrests, and answered 146 calls for service during this reporting period.
