On Apr. 22, Officers responded to a disturbance call that had occurred in the 500 block of Bonham St. in reference to James John-Martin Canady (57) holding a gun and arguing with someone. The caller advised that Canady might be at a business in the 700 block of Bonham St. Officers were aware of possible warrants for Canady and found him at the business. After receiving confirmation of the warrants, officers arrested Canady for Parole and Probation Violation warrants. The gun was determined to be a toy.
On Apr. 22, while executing a search warrant at a residence in the 1100 block of Jackson St., officers and detectives made contact with Geremy Montrell Robinson (38). The search warrant was related to a previous incident involving possible dog fighting and animal cruelty. While executing the search warrant, officers found a baggie of marijuana inside the residence. Robinson was arrested for outstanding City of Paris municipal warrants, possession of marijuana, and warrants for Dog Fighting, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Cruelty to a non-livestock animal, and False Statement to a Police Officer.
On Apr. 22, the eastbound lanes in the 500 block of NW Loop 286 were closed for approximately two hours Tuesday morning following an accident. A trailer load of materials fell onto another vehicle after the load struck an overpass. The accident resulted in one person being transported by Paris EMS to Paris Regional Health.
Officers made 12 traffic stops, two adult arrests, and answered 75 calls for service during this reporting period.
