On Apr. 15, Paris Police received a report of a kidnapping and assault that occurred in Paris. The victim had injuries consistent with being assaulted. While investigating this incident Paris Police officers observed the suspect driving a vehicle. As officers attempted a traffic stop the suspect fled, but was eventually arrested in 700 block 5th NE. The suspect was identified as Amosa Simmons and charged with Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault, Assault, Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle, and Evading Arrest/Detention.
Paris Police made a total of five (5) arrests, twenty-four (24) traffic stops and responded to fifty-three (53) calls for service.
