Monday, April 10, 2023 at 9:56am: A Paris Community Service Officer spoke with a husband and his wife in the Police Department Lobby and took a Fraud Possession Use Credit or Debit Card Report. The victims had responded to a fake Gmail from PayPal; which installed Apps on their phones that seemed to have allowed remote access to their devices. They provided a Social Security number and a $313.99 transaction was processed through PayPal.
Monday, April 10, 2023 at 1:40pm: After a Paris Police Officer responded to a Disturbance in the 200 block of SE 13th Street; 22-Year-Old Marquisha Atonya Taylor of Paris was arrested and taken into custody for an outstanding Felony Warrant-Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon that resulted from a December 2022 incident; where she had accelerated in a vehicle and tried to hit the same individual that she was in a disturbance with today.
Monday, April 10, 2023 at 2:51pm: A victim spoke with a Paris Community Service Officer over the telephone and stated he had been locked out of his Facebook account and believes that whoever took over the account had used it or information obtained from Facebook to access his Venmo account. The victim is not currently aware of any monetary losses from any of his accounts; but did notify his bank and credit agencies. A report of Fraud Use Possession Identifying Information was taken.
Monday, April 10, 2023 at 3:10pm: A Paris Police Officer was flagged down by a store clerk in the 700 block of Bonham Street and was directed towards a female that had just left the store. Contact was made with Homeless 36-Year-Old Marissa Renee Sanmiguel. Sanmiguel was arrested for stealing a package of Twang Lemon Lime Flavored Salt valued at $4.99. At booking, Sanmiguel was charged with Theft of Property <$2500/2 or more previous convictions, a State Jail Felony, because she was in possession of stolen property and had 3 previous convictions on her criminal history for theft.
Monday, April 10, 2023 at 3:44pm: A boyfriend and his girlfriend engaged in a disturbance in the 1000 block of South Collegiate Drive. The girlfriend had sustained minor cuts to her fingers from a pocket knife. She was observed chasing the boyfriend around a vehicle and spraying his with pepper spray. Paris Officers booked 25-Year-Old Jaylon Terrell King of Paris into the Paris Jail for Aggravated Assault Date-Family-Household with Weapon-First Degree Felony. The girlfriend was booked for Class A-Assault Family Violence.
Monday, April 10, 2023 at 5:52pm: 91-Year-Old Melvin Hassell, who had been reported as a Missing Person with the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office was located in his vehicle in the Braums’ drive-thru-parking lot, in the 2000 block of Bonham Street; seeming to have a medical issue. He was checked by Paris Fire-EMS and later transported to the Paris Police Department, where he was provided accommodations until his family arrived.
Monday, April 10, 2023: The Paris Police Department responded to 77 Calls for Service; Arrested 6 adult persons and Made 4 traffic stops.
