The Paris Police Department welcomed new officer Austin Garrison on Tuesday night after he was sworn in by City of Paris Clerk Janice Ellis.
Garrison trained for five months at Texas A&M Commerce Police Academy, graduating on May 2, 2025.
Mayor Mihir Pankaj, City Manager Rose Beverly, Police Chief Richard Salter, Assistant Chief Randy Tuttle, Captain Doug Thompson and Lieutenant Michael Bankston all welcomed Garrison and his family to the department.
Also in attendance were Garrison’s parents, Mike and Dena Garrison; his son, Brett; daughter, Kamry; and grandparents, Larry and Linda Brown.
“May we all welcome and support Officer Garrison’s as he begins his career with the Paris Police Department.”
