Dr. Charls will begin seeing patients at Paris Orthopedic Clinic on September 8. He specializes in orthopedic sports medicine, having recently completed his Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine.
His training also includes a fiveyear Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Toledo Medical Center.
A graduate of the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine, Dr. Charls earned his Doctor of Medicine degree along with a Certificate in the Physician Healer Track. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Dallas, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a minor in Music.
Dr. Charls is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine, and the Texas Medical Association.
His career achievements include academic and leadership honors such as membership in Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, Sigma Alpha Pi leadership honor society, and multiple peer-reviewed orthopedic research publications and presentations at national conferences.
