January is School Board Recognition Month, and this year’s theme, “Our Future Is Public,” highlights the vital role school board trustees play in shaping strong public schools.
By generously volunteering their time and expertise, trustees help guide the direction of school districts while investing in the future workforce, strengthening local communities, and supporting the Texas economy.
Our Future Is Public is a year-round initiative that celebrates and elevates success stories from school districts across the state, reinforcing the lasting impact of public education.
“Our Board of Trustees is a true team of eight, they are all selfless with their time, steadfast in their support, and united by their love for Paris ISD,” stated Superintendent Althea Dixon. “Every decision they make is guided by what is best for our students, teachers, and administrators, and their leadership reflects a deep commitment to the heart of our district. As the superintendent of Paris ISD, I feel extremely grateful to have such a supportive team to work with. Our trustees are more than leaders—they are guardians of our district’s future. They are true heroes in our district. We are blessed to have such a great group of servant leaders.”
Board members serving Paris ISD are President Mandeep Chatha-Homer (Place 4), Vice President Clifton Fendley (Place 2), Secretary Terry Davis (Place 3), LaWanda Ladell (Place 1), Aubrey Gibbs, M.D (Place 5), Anne Biard (Place 6), and Clifton W. Kerby, D.D.S. (Place 7).
