Paris High School Automotive students recently traded the classroom for the racetrack, attending the NHRA Finals in Ennis, Texas, alongside their instructor, Mr. Ochoa.
The trip gave students an up-close look at the technology, engineering and career opportunities available in the automotive industry while experiencing the excitement of professional drag racing.
Sporting their new PHS Automotive shirts, the students represented Paris High School while gaining valuable insight into how the skills they learn in the classroom and shop translate into real-world applications.
The experience also provided an opportunity for students to explore potential career paths, learn more about the automotive industry and see firsthand how their technical education can prepare them for the workforce.
Paris High School officials emphasized the importance of providing students with learning opportunities beyond the classroom, noting that experiences like these can help turn an interest in automotive technology into a lifelong career.
The district also recognized Ochoa for his commitment to creating hands-on learning opportunities that expose students to the industry and help prepare them for their futures.
