The Paris Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 1600 block of Campbell Street around 5:40 a.m. on Dec. 29, 2025.
“Engine 3 arrived on scene and reported a recreational vehicle fully engulfed in flames. As firefighters began the initial fire attack, a body was discovered near the door to the RV.”
Firefighters confirmed that the victim was deceased, while other firefighters continued to fight the blaze.
After the fire was extinguished, a second victim was discovered deceased in the sleeping area of the vehicle.
The victims were sent for autopsies, and the preliminary Medical Examiner’s reports indicate that both fatalities were a result of smoke inhalation and burn injuries.
As the fire remains under investigation, no further information is available at this time.
