Paris EMS recently visited the Health Science classes at Paris High School for Stop the Bleed training, first aid, and touring the MICU.
Students were taught the process for stopping bleeding in emergency situations by wound-packing and applying pressure, how to use tourniquets, and touring the ambulance.
While touring the ambulance, they were given demonstrations on how the ambulance is equipped as well as what they use the equipment for in emergency situations.
“Getting hands-on experience can be crucial for students interested in healthcare or emergency response careers,” expressed Lana Cashion, health science instructor. “It’s great to see practical learning opportunities like this for our students.”
